We believe a machine is only as strong as its components. Our steel weld-on hinges outperform bolted hardware by creating a permanent, vibration-resistant bond that won’t loosen or sag.
Made in the USA and headquartered in Saint Louis, MO, our precision-tested, load-rated hinges ensure industrial projects stay safe and durable.
Choose our high-quality materials for a seamless welding process and a solution built to outlast your equipment.
We know that not every project needs the same type of hardware. At HardwareMFG, we offer hinges made of mild steel, 304 stainless steel, and aluminum.
Our aluminum hinges even use stainless steel pins to keep them moving smoothly. It is important to note that while we use many metals, we do not offer steel weld-on hinges in 316 stainless steel.
Here are eight reasons why our hinges are the right choice for your heavy-duty work:
High Load Ratings: We design our hinges to hold specific amounts of weight. This helps your team feel safe when building heavy gates.
Matching Materials: We offer different metals so you can match the hinge to the metal you are welding. This creates a much stronger bond.
Smooth Movement: We use precision machines to make our hinges. This prevents them from sticking and helps them swing easily for a long time.
Grease Points: Maintenance is very important for big machines. We include special fittings (zerks) so you can easily add oil or grease to the inside of the hinge.
Rust Protection: We use stainless steel pins and washers. Even on aluminum hinges, this keeps rust from “locking up” the hinge so it won’t move.
Custom Options: Every job is different. We can change the size, shape, or “offset” of the hinge in our shop so it fits your project perfectly.
Heat Resistance: Cheap metal can warp when you weld it. Our professional hinges are built to stay straight and true, even under the high heat of a welding torch.
Better Washers: We use brass or stainless steel washers between the hinge parts. This stops metal from grinding against metal, which makes the hinge last longer.
Many companies are switching to steel weld-on hinges to save money on repairs later. When you weld a hinge, you don’t have to drill holes or tighten nuts and bolts. Holes in metal are often where rust starts, so welding keeps the equipment looking new.
Our multi-state factories efficiently handle bulk orders (500-unit minimum) for trailer and machinery OEMs.
With in-house custom stamping and machining, we can adapt hinge leaves to fit curved surfaces or unique angles, ensuring our hardware integrates seamlessly into your workflow without hassle or delays.
The table below shows our hinge materials:
| Feature | Mild Steel Hinge | Stainless Steel (304) | Aluminum Hinge |
| Welding Ease | Excellent (Standard) | Great (Needs SS wire) | Specialized (TIG) |
| Rust Defense | Low (Needs paint) | High | High |
| Pin Material | Hardened Steel | Stainless Steel | Stainless Steel |
| Best Use | Utility Trailers | Food/Chemical Plants | Light Gates/Boxes |
| Strength | Very High | High | Moderate |
Safety is our top priority at HardwareMFG. We offer custom “form and bend” options, like specific spring actions or offsets, to prevent dangerous mechanical failures.
Our steel weld-on hinges provide a thinner profile than bulky bolt-on hardware, making them ideal for tight spaces on heavy equipment.
Choose between cost-effective mild steel or corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel to ensure your build remains secure and durable in any environment.
Q.1) Why are weld-on hinges better than bolt-on hinges for trailers?
Our weld-on hinges stay put. They can’t be stolen or tampered with, and you don’t have to worry about bolts shaking loose while you are driving down the road.
Q.2) Can I get these hinges in 316 stainless steel?
We use 316 stainless steel for many of our latches, but for our weld-on hinges, we only offer mild steel and 304 stainless steel. We also have aluminum options.
Q.3) What is the smallest order I can place?
To keep our factory running at its best, we require a minimum order of 500 units for our hardware products.
Q.4) Do you offer custom designs for special gates?
Yes! We can customize the size, shape, bends, and hole patterns in-house to make sure the hinge fits your specific gate design.
Q.5) Where do you make your products?
Our main office is in Saint Louis, MO, but we have manufacturing plants in several states to make sure we can get parts to you quickly.
HardwareMFG is more than just a parts supplier. We are a partner in making sure your equipment lasts. We set the bar for heavy-duty parts by offering custom building and expert advice on materials.
Whether you work in construction, shipping, or heavy machinery, our steel weld-on hinges show the best of American engineering.
